a)When the possessive noun is singular, use the apostrophe (‘) to show that something belongs to a person/animal. So write sign (‘) after the noun à (‘s).
Examples: - The bag belongs to Mandy. The bag is Mandy’s
- That girl’s dress is prety
b)When we want to show that thing belongs to some other person, we can use the possessive noun to express it à (‘s).
Example: - The car doesn’t belong to George, it is Fredy’s.
- That is Ali’s new bicycle
c)When a regular noun is plural, we write the sign (‘) after the letter s à (s’).
Example: - Those are boys’ shoes.
- This is lecturers’ room
d)But, when it is an irregular noun is plural, we write the sign (‘) before the letter s à (‘s). Example: - The children’s room is large.
- There are men’s clothing shops
